The Premier League is quite one of the toughest leagues in Europe, hence players’ and managers’ roles are always at stake.

So, this means as a player or manager, you can easily get rid of a Premier League club if you do not deliver as a club wants, most especially the manager.

Moreover, in the previous season, a lot of clubs had got rid of their managers to appoint new ones for the upcoming season, 2023/24 season, and Chelsea and Tottenham are one of the Premier League clubs that got rid of their managers after the end of the 2022/23 season due to poor performances.

Premier League Club Managers And Assistants (2023/24)

1. Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)

• Assistant: Albert Stuivenberg

Mikel Arteta was appointed by Arsenal in December 2019, and since then, he has changed Arsenal trying to drive them back to their glory days.

Arteta served as an assistant coach to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City before taking over the Arsenal manager role in 2019.

In the previous season, Arsenal went head-to-head with Manchester City for the Premier League title but lost the race a few matches to the final day, and of course, Mikel Arteta deserves the credit.

2. Unai Emery (Aston Villa)

Four-time UEFA Europa League winner Unai Emery picked up a Premier League to manage Aston Villa’s senior team, and under him, Aston Villa has scored +19 Premier League goals despite starting at the midway point of the season.

Unai Emery joined Aston in October 2022 from Villarreal CF after winning the Europa League with the Spanish side. Also, Unai Emery has had a significant impact on Aston Villa with the help of his assistant Pako Ayestarán.

3. Andoni Iraola (AFC Bournemouth)

Following the departure of Gary O’Neil as AFC Bournemouth interim manager, Andoni Iraola was appointed by the Premier League side.

Gary O’Neil was quite impressive having been appointed in November 2022, but he was only there for a short time.

4. Roberto De Zerbi (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Roberto De Zerbi broke the record of Brighton which was held for 122 years. The Brighton boss won Chelsea which the club has not done in the last century.

Following Graham Potter’s departure from the club, Roberto De Zerbi stepped up to take the manager role at Brighton to replace the English manager, and so far, he is doing a great job.

He has also helped the club qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

5. Thomas Frank (Brentford)

Thomas Frank is currently maintaining his role as Brentford boss since he was appointed by the Bees in 2016 from Brøndby IF as an assistant manager.

In 2018, Thomas Frank was appointed with the head coach role at the club and he secured a promotion to the Premier League with Brentford at the end of the 2020/21 season.

6. Mauricio Pochettino (Chelsea)

• Assistant: Jesus Perez

It just did not turn out well for Chelsea despite being the Premier League club with the most coaches in the previous season.

Chelsea started the season with Thomas Tuchel and following the sanction of the club, Todd Boehly took over, sacked Thomas Tuchel, and appointed Graham Potter who later left the role for his assistant, Bruno Salton.

Jurgen Klopp currently is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League.

The German tactician was appointed in 2015 and throughout these seasons, he has revived Liverpool and won them major trophies including The UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Jurgen Klopp has deployed tactics in Liverpool which has made him one of the outstanding Premier League managers.

13. Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)

• Assistant: Rodolfo Borrell, Carlos Vicens, and Enzo Maresca.

In the past decades, Pep Guardiola has dominated the English Premier League, winning The Treble in the previous season. He has won figures in the Premier League and is now considered the best alongside legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

14. Erik Ten Hag (Manchester United)

• Assistant: Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren

Manchester United appointed Erik Ten Hag as their new manager following the departure of interim manager Ralf Ragnick in April 2022.

Erik Ten Hag has brought significant changes to the team since resuming duty at the beginning of the 2022/23 season. Erik Ten Hag also brought Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren with him as his assistants.

15. Eddie Howe (Newcastle United)

Eddie Howe has been phenomenal since joining Newcastle United a few years ago. The English manager was appointed in November 2021, and his contract will last till 2024 summer. Eddie Howe came to Newcastle’s rescue following the departure of Steve Bruce.

16. Nuno Espirito Santo (Nottingham Forest)

20. Gary O’Neil (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

• Assistant: Tim Jenkins

Julen Lopetegui is currently the boss at Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the Spaniard joined the club in November 2022 with his assistant Pablo Sanz.
